The birth of a new pan-African Political Science Association

A pan-African professional organization of teachers, authors and researchers in political science, government and development administration was formed at a meeting held in Dar es Salaam, 21-23 December 1973. It is called the African Association of Political Science (AAPS). The general purpose of the Association is to make the teaching of political science and development administration relevant to the continent and its problems. It is followed by the complete text of the constitution of the AAPS (p. 141-146).
