Maintaining and Expanding Research in East Africa

The writers were among the East Africans who attended the Conference on International Support for Research in East Africa held on 20th and 21st February, 1964, at the E.A.C.S.O. Headquarters, Nairobi. The conference was also attended by representatives from the three East African Governments, the University of East Africa and delegates from various European and U.S. foundations. This article gives the three East Africans’ reflections on the proceedings of the conference and the role in research which the East African Academy could assume.
