An Annotated Bibliography of Works in Portuguese and Spanish on Lusophone Africa

The restoration of freedom of the press in Portugal following the revolution of 1974 enabled authors on lusophone Africa to publish their views without fear of reprisal for the first time in nearly half a century. The present bibliography includes twenty-three works in Portuguese and three in Spanish that were published between 1974 and 1982. The annotations describe the sources and content of these works, and give some critical comments. The entries are arranged under the following headings: general (7), Angola (10), Guinea-Bissau (5), So Tom and Prncipe (1), Mozambique (3).
